Digital terrestrial tv

The Swedish Radio and Television Authority shall issue all licences to broadcast television other than public service radio and television (SVT & UR). 

Sweden has made the switch from analogue to digital terrestrial tv broadcasts. In 2003 the Swedish Parliament decided that analogue terrestrial broadcasts would be switched off in Sweden by 1 February 2008, after being phased out gradually. The Digital TV Commission had the task of coordinating and spreading information on the transition to digital tv broadcasts in Sweden.
