Radio and television via the Internet

No licence is required to transmit radio and television programmes via the Internet. However, the transmission can be subject to notification with the Swedish Radio and TV Authority.

The transmission is subject to notification if it:
• deals with a live broadcast or playback which is broadcasted at certain times that are scheduled by the transmitter and
• is directed at the public.

Notification
The transmitter has to notify broadcasting activity, a legally responsible person and a designation to the Swedish Radio and Television Authority. Notification should be made on a special form that can be ordered from the Swedish Radio and TV Authority or downloaded from its website, www.rtvv.se.
